How to Host the Perfect Gathering

Let's talk about entry ways, shall we?!

I love entry ways! And right now, with the fact that it is cold(ish) and rainy in the Phoenix area, I get even more excited about them. I love how they can be just straight up pretty since they are first thing you see when you walk in. They can provide storage and functionality for dropping keys, shoes, bags and even umbrellas and rain jackets! There are a few different options when styling an entry way and I want to chat about those.

Mudroom style

Depending on where you live, mudroom style entry ways are the most functional style. Especially if you live in an area where you actually get winter weather and you are dealing with jackets and boots. However, they are still extremely functional for keeping things organized – hooks, drawers cabinets and shelves offer plenty of storage.  Off of our garage, we have a mudroom style entry and we use it to store the kids’ backpacks and jackets. Here are a few of my favorites!

Console table style

Console tables add both style and function to an entry way. They allow the chance to add plenty of style because you have space to add accessories and decor to the top of the table. For console tables, I like to add decorative pieces, but also pieces that are multi-purpose. A decorative bowl becomes a place to drop keys on your way in. Baskets or storage ottomans under the table provide a spot for shoes or gloves. You can either choose a table with open space at the bottom or a dresser or console with doors and drawers for extra storage. And I love the look of a mirror above a table. It gives you one last look at yourself on the way out! 🙂 Art above the console table is so pretty though too! It’s a toss up as to which one I like the best. Maybe you have a favorite from below??

bench style

This is the coziest look, in my opinion. I love the look of adding pillows and throw blankets and layering in baskets on the floor for extra storage. Plus, with a bench you have a place to sit down and take off or put on your shoes. I think it’s especially helpful when you have kiddos.

So, what do you guys think? Which entry way style is your favorite?? To be honest, I can’t decide. I love each one for different reasons and with designs as beautiful as these, how can you really go wrong? For more entry way inspiration, make sure you are following along with us on Pinterest!
