Project Reveal: Edgemont

Console Table + Edgemont Vacation Rental + Blissful Design Studio

Are you ready to tour this Spanish Boho beauty of a vacation rental?

I sure hope so! Because I am really excited to finally share this project with you. This home started out in pretty rough shape with a closed in and choppy layout and now it is bright, open and beautiful. The floor plan was the same as our Cambridge vacation project, which I still have not put on the blog. Shame on me!! Hopefully I can get to that soon! We called Cambridge’s style Collected Coastal and it had some darker elements and more blue in it. I wanted to make sure that Edgemont felt completely different, so we went for a warm color palette and used white cabinetry throughout to keep things light and bright. You can read more about how we used a color palette as the jumping off point for the whole design of the interior on Haven’s blog

The kitchen

This kitchen you guys!! Oh my heart! I love the mixture of whites in this kitchen. The backsplash from Bedrosians is one of my favorites because it all different tones of white and I think it really worked to marry the bright white of the cabinetry and the creamier white of the Calacutta quartz countertop. But what I love is that it feels warmed up with the brass hardware, reclaimed wood open shelves and the leather barstools.  Styling the open shelves was so much fun in the kitchen. I think my favorite shelf is the glass canisters of spices. They bring in all of the colors from the rest of the home.

The Living Room

Can I even pick a favorite part of this room? Maybe not. But I have some favorites! First of all, the rug is gorgeous!!! It has all of the colors that I wanted to bring in the space and the pattern is so pretty. And second, these rust accent chairs. They are so stunning. Rust velvet? I mean, can you even? When they were delivered, I think I totally freaked out the mover with how excited I was about them. They make such an impact and add so much warmth and texture to the room.

The Dining ROOM

We kept it simple in the dining room. The table is from the Magnolia Home line at Living Spaces. We always try to have a table large enough to seat up to 10 people, especially because our vacation homes sleep between 10-16 people. The art piece was purchased as a digital print from an Etsy Shop called umaiana. I love the colors in it and we used Framebridge to have it framed. It’s so easy to use and it always looks great. The bedrooms

This vacation home has 4 bedrooms. There is one king bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a queen bedroom with an en suite bathroom, a double queen bedroom and a bedroom with a full over full bunkbed and a rattan day bed. I love all of the rooms, but the leather headboard in the double queen bedroom might just sway me towards making that room my favorite. The art played a huge role in these rooms and really served as the jumping off points for the color palette in each space. Minted is one of go to sites for gorgeous and unique art. Anyone else a fan of Minted??

the bathrooms

These bathrooms were so much fun to design! From the colors to the patterned tile, it was fun to make each bathroom its own space, while making them cohesive so that they feel like they all belong in the same home. The bathroom off of the king bedroom has the terracotta hexagon. It’s a bolder choice, but it doesn’t feel like too much when it’s paired with white cabinetry and a white shower. We used the same tile in the shower as we did for the kitchen backsplash. It has a variation of whites and it looks so good paired with the mother of pearl penny tile from Floor & Decor. In the bathroom off of the queen bedroom, I chose a taupe and white patterned tile for the floor from Bedrosians and I absolutely love it!! I mean, don’t you? It’s so pretty and it looks so good with the marble shower. The guest bathroom stayed pretty simple for the floors and vanity, but we had some fun with the shower tile and chose this pink and white oversized tile from The Tile Shop. The hardware was a mixture of brass and polished nickel and I love how these two metals work together. I also made sure to add in wood tones in the mirrors to keep things from feeling too cold.
