Girl's Bedroom Makeover

How to Host the Perfect Gathering

It’s that time again – update time for the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge. We have made it to Week 4 and things are finally starting to take shape and come together. Recap for those of you who are new around here. I am working on a girls’ bedroom makeover for my daughter, Addison for the Spring 2020 One Room Challenge in Partnership with Better Homes & Garden. You can catch up on Weeks 1, 2 & 3

We are about ready to make some exciting changes to her room. I have chosen to not start taking her room apart until the big items start showing up. I just don’t want her to be living in chaos for weeks. Her bed arrives tomorrow though, so after that comes in it will feel like we can really get started. Last I mentioned in the last post, I ordered paint samples from Samplize and those should be in soon. We are deciding between Artistic Taupe by Sherwin Williams and one shade lighter, which is White Truffle.

I have really loved getting Addison involved in this process. It’s been really special to have her be a part of the decisions and to see her so excited!! I mean…how cute is she??

I also found really cute nightstands that should come in next week. I love the cane detail and the warmth and texture they will add to her room.

Here is what we are still working on…finding the right desk. I have one in my inventory that I think would work great and it’s free. Which is great considering we have almost tapped out our budget. Addison really loves it, but I hope that the tone of it works with what else we have going on in the room.

Here is where we stand on our to-do list.

  1. A brand new color palette.
  2. Add more storage.
  3. Add a desk.  maybe??
  4. Get a new rug.
  5. Switch out the lighting.
  6. Move her dresser into the closet.
  7. Hang the chair in the corner.
  8. Add art.
  9. Replace the curtain panels.
  10. Add other new furniture.

In the meantime, make sure you check out the featured designers and other fellow guest designers. There are some really great projects going on that you are going to want to check ou
