Interior Inspiration: Mudrooms

Latest  in category

Arizona doesn’t typically bring too much rain, but that doesn’t stop us from dreaming about styling beautiful mudrooms. While we don’t use them much to save our homes from wet conditions out here, they still remain a great place to add some always needed storage space. Check out some of our favorites here, and get inspired to revamp your mudroom too!

Get organized

via Plank and Pillow

We can all use a little more organization in our lives, right?? And mudrooms are a perfect space for that extra storage we need. Try using different baskets and bins to add additional storage to the area. Storage baskets are great for shoes or holding books and papers. I like using closed storage baskets to hide the items I don’t want seen and wire baskets are a great way to contain while showcasing items that are more decorative. Stylish hampers hide the dirty clothes if your mudroom space is also in your laundry room, so those are great to invest in.

A Splash of color

via Blissful Design Studio

One of the best thing about a mudroom is it’s one of the best areas to be expressive in a home. You can leave your things, and just walk away which make it the perfect canvas for a bit of color you may not be able to pull off in other areas of a home. You can do this with paint or tile or even some removable wall paper. If you are looking for something less bold or permanent then adding a runner or some stylish pillows are a great way to bring in color and pattern.

Hooks for hanging

via Elliot Meyers Design

One thing to love about mudrooms is that the level of customization is unmatched! Not only can you throw in a pop of color here, but you can go down to the details of which hooks to include and there are so many different options from brass, to iron, to wood! Hooks are great for hanging jackets, backpacks and purses. They allow you to leave the spaces on top of your bench clear as well.

Our Favorite: Cookbooks

Great for cooking & styling! Bans are starting to lift and that means slowly but surely we can get back to our normal lives (safely, of course!). One Room Challenge Spring 2020 | Girl’s Bedroom Makeover Week 3

Hey, hey! Sooo…this post should have been done yesterday. But this week has been a little crazy and yesterday my team and myself (along with my husband and kids) installed a new vacation rental in Pine, AZ. It was an all-day event and by the end of the night and a water leak later, I […]

My Backyard: We Are Finally Doing Our Yard!

It’s about time this yard happened! If you have read my other project reveal posts about our interior, then you know that we purchased our current home a little over 2 years ago and the main reason we bought it was because of the backyard. The lot is about half an acre and we fell […]

Pine Cabin: Making Some Progress

and then we weren’t making any progress. Well, if you remember from this post, we bought our cabin over 8 months ago, so you might be wondering why it’s taken us so long to get it remodeled. I mean, after all, remodeling homes is what we do for a living and we pretty much have […]

Our Favorite: Stay at Home Essentials

we are still hunkering down and staying cozy during our stay at home… Many states have extended their stay at home orders into May and June. Here in Arizona we are hoping ours will over be by the end of this month, but I am doubtful that it will happen as soon as we hope […]

Pine Cabin: We Bought a Cabin!

well, we bought a cabin 8 months ago… I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to formally introduce you to our cabin in Pine, AZ. But before I do, let me take through the back story of the last 8 months… Elmon (that’s my husband!) and I had been talking about purchasing a cabin […]

Interior Inspiration: Spring Color Palettes

By now, when Spring rolls around, we’re used to tones of pink, yellow, and blue pastels. While these shades are beautiful, nonetheless, seeing pastels for spring are just like seeing florals for spring, and as the great Miranda Priestly once said “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.“ That’s why, for our spring color palette, we’ve chosen muted […]

Project Reveal: My Home | Kitchen, Family Room, Dining Room, Entry & Laundry Room

Our Favorite: Brass Cabinet Hardware

Always in season… While it’s seem to have been trending everywhere lately, brass hardware is a gorgeous feature that deserves to definitely become a staple in your kitchen and bathrooms. It’s versatile (let’s talk about ALL of those possible finishes – brushed, polished, antiqued, unlaquered – should I go on?), brings warmth to a space, […]
