Interior Inspiration: Mudrooms

Latest  Post

Arizona doesn’t typically bring too much rain, but that doesn’t stop us from dreaming about styling beautiful mudrooms. While we don’t use them much to save our homes from wet conditions out here, they still remain a great place to add some always needed storage space. Check out some of our favorites here, and get inspired to revamp your mudroom too!

Get organized

via Plank and Pillow

We can all use a little more organization in our lives, right?? And mudrooms are a perfect space for that extra storage we need. Try using different baskets and bins to add additional storage to the area. Storage baskets are great for shoes or holding books and papers. I like using closed storage baskets to hide the items I don’t want seen and wire baskets are a great way to contain while showcasing items that are more decorative. Stylish hampers hide the dirty clothes if your mudroom space is also in your laundry room, so those are great to invest in.

A Splash of color

via Blissful Design Studio

One of the best thing about a mudroom is it’s one of the best areas to be expressive in a home. You can leave your things, and just walk away which make it the perfect canvas for a bit of color you may not be able to pull off in other areas of a home. You can do this with paint or tile or even some removable wall paper. If you are looking for something less bold or permanent then adding a runner or some stylish pillows are a great way to bring in color and pattern.

Hooks for hanging

via Elliot Meyers Design

One thing to love about mudrooms is that the level of customization is unmatched! Not only can you throw in a pop of color here, but you can go down to the details of which hooks to include and there are so many different options from brass, to iron, to wood! Hooks are great for hanging jackets, backpacks and purses. They allow you to leave the spaces on top of your bench clear as well.

By now, when Spring rolls around, we’re used to tones of pink, yellow, and blue pastels. While these shades are beautiful, nonetheless, seeing pastels for spring are just like seeing florals for spring, and as the great Miranda Priestly once said “Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.“ That’s why, for our spring color palette, we’ve chosen muted […]
